Their Story
As told in the Disney+ feature film Rise, Charles and Veronica Antetokounmpo emigrated from Nigeria to Athens, Greece. They wanted a better life for their family. The challenges were vast.
When four of their five sons found a passion for basketball, Charles and Veronica encouraged them to dream big.
Eventually, those four sons found success as professional basketball players. Giannis was the first of the four to play professionally, and all celebrated his success: “When one person in the family scores, the whole family scores.”
Now, the family gives back through the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation (CAFF), named for their father.
